Phil's breakthrough moment did not come in a lab or a boardroom – it came at home thanks to his mother. Witnessing his early passion for innovation and prototypes, she introduced him to a nearby Scientist and Inventor friend (James Lovelock) who had encouraged Phil to pursue his innovations independently and was instrumental in raising awareness in Phil of future climate change issues due to the burning of fossil fuels. This inspiration and knowledge were always at the forefront of Phil's ambition to create and market environmental innovations that would benefit both customers and the world.

Encouraged by this success, Phil refined the design, engineered it with modern materials, and launched Water Powered Technologies Ltd (WPT) — with a mission to deliver zero-energy water pumping to people everywhere.
